Eraman eyes 16-20pc hike in sales

KUALA LUMPUR: Eraman Malaysia expects its sales this year to increase by 16 to 20 per cent compared with last year's, said its general manager, Fawzy Ahmad.

He said the company, a wholly-owned unit of Malaysia Airports Holdings Bhd and the country's largest airport retailer, was confident of achieving the target with its year-end sales campaign which will be launched next week.

Fawzy said Eraman will launch shopping catalogues and promotions with other brands and categories to boost sales.

"Furthermore, we are actually waiting for the completion of KLIA 2 to open new retail outlets that will be our next growth catalysts.

"We have also secured some outlets at the Penang International Airport," he told Bernama after the launch of the special edition Alexander Grappa's "I Love Malaysia" wine distilled by Bottega.

Also present was Distilleria Bottega's president, Sandro Bottega.

He said Eraman currently has 45 retail and lifestyle outlets, eight food and beverage outlets and five kiosks at five international airports in KLIA, Penang, Langkawi, Kuching and Kota Kinabalu as well as at LCCT-KLIA and Labuan airport.

Eraman teamed up with Italian winery Distilleria Bottega to launch the special edition Alexander Grappa wine which will be available from Oct 4, 2012.

The special edition's livery on the bottle carries the 'Alexander Grappa by Bottega' label alongside images of Malaysia's famous landmarks and prestigious buildings such as Twin Towers, KL Tower and Kuala Lumpur International Airport.

Fawzy said this was part of Eraman's efforts to promote Malaysia as a 'must-go-to-and-see' tourist destination and attraction in line with the nation's tourism tagline 'Malaysia -- Truly Asia'. -- BERNAMA
