Proton Preve Gets ANCAP Five-star Safety Rating

KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 26 (Bernama) -- Proton Preve has been awarded a five-star Australasian New Car Assessment Programme (ANCAP) safety rating after the completion of three crash tests.

In a statement Tuesday, Proton Holdings Bhd said the tests -- frontal offset, side impact and pole -- were conducted by independent specialist laboratories in Australia.

Its executive chairman, Datuk Seri Khamil Jamil, said Proton's drive to change the public perception about its brand was now further proven and reinforced by this latest achievement.

"An achievement of this level is yet another testament of the improving quality of Proton cars and that the Preve is recommended as a safe car, at par with other international models which have been awarded with the same level of ratings by ANCAP," he said.

Khamil said the company was constantly working on enhancing the safety performance of all its models, particularly for domestic market, and customers would see the result of the initiative in upcoming models and variants from the third quarter of 2013 onwards.
